GANADO — Funeral Services for Edith Williams Mason, 82, will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at St. Micheals Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick will officiate. Burial will be in Kinlichee Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at St. Micheals Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Rollie Mortuary.
Mason died Oct. 21, 2011, in Santa Fe. She was born July 10, 1929, in Ganado into the Mexican People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Mason retired from the federal government civil services after 40 + years. She was a mom and enjoyed playing bingo at the Sandia and Isleta casinos.
Survivors include her husband James Mason; sons Murment Mason, of Gallup, and Anthony Mason, of Rio Rancho; daughters Genevieve Carli, of Montrose, Colo., Charlotte Lee, of San Diego, Calif., Geraldine Hatathli, of Shiprock, Phyllis Mason-Baca, of Albuquerque, Myrtle Mason, of Gallup, and Mary Rose Mason, of Gallup; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Althnasbah Williams; brothers Kee Allison, Jimmy Allison, Jerry Williams, Douglas Williams, Kenneth Williams and Samuel Billison and sisters Elizabeth Kirk, Winnie Wauneka and Rita Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Baca, Eric Lope, Anthony Lope, Brian Curley, Glenn Allison and Amy Faria.
The family received relatives and friends at the James Kirk’s residence in Ganado 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
